For this blogathon I’ll be giving a summary of my June. three book recommendations, three movie recommendations, a writing challenge, and a writing life update.<\/p>\n

June summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n

So this June was very crazy yet successful. First of all, I started this blog! I got my braces on (blah,) started a creative writing club, took a family trip to the smoky mountains, turned 15, then there’s father’s day of course, and best of all… I GOT MY BOOK PUBLISHED!!!!!! (more information about that below.<\/p>\n

Books:<\/strong><\/p>\n

All my book recommendations today have been adapted into movies in honor of “The BFG” which comes out today.<\/p>\n

So of course this first book is The BFG<\/a> – <\/em>by Roald Dahl.
\n<\/a>\"\"I’m definitely going to see this movie considering a saw that it was coming last year and just had to read the book. This is a link to my review website!<\/a><\/p>\n

This next book is A Wrinkle in Time<\/em><\/a> – by Madeleine L’Engle.<\/span><\/span>\"\"<\/a>This is one of my favorite books (and movies!) and I highly recommend this to si-fi fantasy fans. Click this for my review!<\/a><\/p>\n

This last book I liked, but I’m only recommending it to older readers: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children<\/em> <\/a>– by Ransom Riggs.
\n<\/a>Now this book has a lot of language and some scenes that may be too scary or disturbing for younger kids. you can get more detail of that here: click me!<\/a><\/p>\n

Movies:<\/strong><\/p>\n

This first movie is: Freaky Friday<\/em><\/a>.
\n<\/a><\/p>\n

the next movie recommendation is: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.<\/em><\/a>
\n<\/a><\/p>\n

This last movie is Into the Woods<\/em><\/a>
\n<\/a><\/p>\n

Writing challenge:<\/strong><\/p>\n

So these challenges don’t have a due date, you don’t even need to do them! they’re just here to encourage me and other writers to practice and step outside our comfort zones.<\/p>\n

last month’s challenge was to write a short story inspired by a piece of classical music. July’s is to write about something that happened to you from someone else’s prospective.<\/p>\n

Writing life update:<\/strong><\/p>\n

So as I\u00a0mentioned earlier I’m now a published author! My new book is called Sea of Trees.<\/em>
\n<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \"\"You can get it and see more about it HERE!<\/a>
\nNow, this next book I’m writing, the one for camp NaNoWriMo, I don’t want to give away the name so I’ll call it: An American Werewolf in New Orleans. It’s about a werewolf, takes place in New Orleans, and it isn’t a horror story. That’s all I’m saying for now.<\/p>\n
